Our Flight Experiences

With the help of our professional pilots, anyone over the age of 12 can fly our amazing Boeing 737 flight simulator. BOOKING NOW FOR CHRISTMAS GIFT VOUCHERS.

Our Boeing 737 flight simulator is on a motion platform so you'll experience the view and feel of flying - just as if you were actually at the controls of a real plane!

Upon arrival you will be greeted by our friendly team in the 'departure lounge' and offered a range of complimentary teas, coffees or soft drinks. Your friends and family are made to feel welcome too - you can bring 3 guests to share the experience from the passenger seats in our simulator. We'll give you a full briefing then sit alongside you as you prepare for take off. Once you're off the ground, we'll help you fly to your chosen destination and guide you through the landing too.

The one hour flight experience is our most popular flight as it gives you long enough to get the hang of the Jet and really feel that you are flying - you can even try out some acrobatics with the guidance of our professional pilots!

Your friendly flight crew

After leaving the departure lounge an instructor will provide your pre-flight briefing, normally lasting 15 minutes, before leading you down to the simulator, where you will take the Captains seat of our 737-800 Simulator alongside a fully trained commercial jet pilot.

A state of the art simulator

Unlike other companies who use fixed based simulators, the Virtual Jet Centre have custom built our 737-800 simulator, incorporating our motion platform along with its 220 degree field of view visual display which can make you forget that you are sitting in a simulator.

Choose any location in the world as your ‘destination’, set a flight path and experience the thrill of flying a 70-tonne 737-800 jet from take off to landing, all with a professional pilot to help guide you. The view is incredible - you'll recognise your favourite places from the air!

A thrilling experience...

3 spectators are welcome to sit in the First Class seating (immediately behind the cockpit) where they will have a great view of the flight. Many of our customers have described their experience with us as "absolutely thrilling." Our flight experiences are ideal as a gift or perhaps as a fun day out if you are on holiday in Devon.

Where are we located?

The Virtual Jet Centre is ideally located at the heart of Devon countryside, with easy access to the Torbay area, Dartmoor, South Devon, Plymouth and of course, just 7 miles away from the magical city of Exeter. Packed with exciting history ranging from the Cathedral’s magnificent Gothic architecture to the mysterious medieval Underground Passages, why not combine a stay in Exeter with an experience day at the Virtual Jet Centre.

What can I expect from the flight experience?

Your instructor will provide your pre-flight briefing, normally lasting 15 minutes, before leading you down to the simulator, where you will take the Captains seat of our 737-800 Simulator. Sessions normally last a minimum of 60 mins, however we accept longer bookings for groups or for that extra special experience. You will take full control of flying the 737-800, with a highly experienced commercial jet pilot sitting next to you to help and advise you during the flight. We offer a wide range of airport locations and routes, from Exeter - Bristol, Munich - Salzberg or Innsbruck, Milan - Geneva with spectacular views over the Alps and many more... Your experience starts with all engines running on the runway of your chosen airport, after a short departure brief it is time to advance the throttles and accelerate the jet down the runway and into the air. Our fully immersive simulator features incredible surround sound simulating the roar of the massive engines. Watch the world go by, through the cockpit windows as you leave the ground behind then straight into manoeuvres as you turn, bank and climb your aircraft around the skies.

What will I learn?

You will experience and learn first hand how to fly a commercial jet airliner, navigating the departure, enroute and arrival procedures at your destination, whilst taking in some local sights and landmarks. The scenery is spectacular from a 220 degree wrap around visual display and everything is exactly how you would expect it to be if you were flying a real jet. In fact this very simulator is used to help train recruit pilots seeking their commercial license!

Achieving a perfect landing...

As you approach your destination, it is time to lower the flaps and extend the landing gear as you commence your approach, trying to keep every instrument and gauge exactly where they are supposed to be. A perfect landing is extremely hard but an absolute thrill to attempt. And with such realistic surroundings you´ll truly feel you are doing this all for real!
